We use two main methods to tell the truth about plastic, which are grassroots advocacy and activism. Grassroots advocacy is about us as citizens using our power. It differs from professional advocacy. We create networks, as we have done in our campaign against artificial grass, to spread information and counter lies – truth about plastic.
As activists, meanwhile, we use nonviolent direct action (NVDA) in order to raise the salience of urgent issues. Our particular approach to this kind of change is not disruptive to the majority of the public, and emphasises festivity, joy, and humour.
